Eight international writers will work eight hours a day for five days generating text-prompts, text and edit-software in unrelenting micro-sessions to create a cadaverous exquisite_code life-novel . Text will be produced in response to prompts conspired by the writers at the end of each session. But only after bespoke edit-software has wormed its way through it, cutting, chewing and spitting gobbets of the text into a dump from which the life-novel will be elaborated. This edit-worm is itself interrogated and re-written in scheduled code writing sprints by the writers. At all times all participants are available for public scrutiny and interaction, and all writing will be on live display whilst continuously extruded as hardcopy from line printers.

Statement: Irony of Irony

Theatricality is a word that empowers in itself a range of different meanings within the art world and outside of it.

The reason why I am mentioning this word, which sometimes reveals itself slippery, is the fact that I understand it as a particular set of actions that are present in my work.

Theatricality in my work is related with alive stage that encompasses different layers of understanding related with live art, performance or even theatre.

I see it as a group of materials that are set together with one purpose that is the spectator. This dynamism that is found in a dialogue between the spectator and the work is in some way coordinated by me in order to establish a set of actions that will have as result the engagement with the piece perhaps in a more dramatic way.

Besides existing a constant re-enactment of how each work is perceived and understood by each person, the objects themselves take part in this system by inviting the spectator to become active in a communal act of shared actions.

What I want to imply here is the fact that the objects gain attributes that are close to each individual in the way the work may be touched or touch people.

Uma breve introdução por Pedro Lopes

Desde cedo mostrei uma especial apetência para o desenho, mas só a partir dos quinze anos comecei a dedicar mais tempo à pintura e a desenvolver a minha linguagem artística.

Durante a minha adolescência o meu trabalho artístico foi sendo reconhecido através de vários prémios de pintura tanto a nível nacional como internacional. As minhas pinturas estiveram presentes em diversas exposições coletivas assim como exposições individuais da minha obra.

Ao longo da minha licenciatura em Artes Plásticas na Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Caldas da Rainha o meu trabalho artístico tornou-se predominantemente tridimensional e experimental. Foquei-me especialmente em escultura e instalação por ser áreas que desejava explorar. A escultura acabou por ser a minha área de especialização durante o ano final da minha licenciatura. Ao longo da minha licenciatura continuei a pintar e a participar em exposições com o meu trabalho bidimensional e tridimensional.

O rumo que tomei na minha licenciatura abriu-me portas para um mestrado em Inglaterra na Norwich University College of the Arts. A minha produção artística durante o mestrado tomou uma direção performativa na qual o espectador se tornava parte da obra através de uma experiência interativa. No decorrer do mestrado continuei a expor individualmente e coletivamente. Para a tese de mestrado publiquei um livro de autor intitulado The Ultimate Secret, 101 ideas to storm the Art World. O livro é um manual de ideias para produzir obras de arte. As ideias foram concebidas para dar ao leitor a possibilidade de desenvolver/produzir arte que seja provocadora e acessível ao público.

Acabado o Mestrado decidi rumar a Londres e fazer uma especialização no ensino de arte.

Encontro-me presentemente baseado em Londres aonde sou Coordenador do currículo de Arte numa Escola Primária.

Atualmente foco as minhas energias em inspirar novas gerações a libertarem o seu Bico Azul através de concursos de arte, residências artísticas e colaborações com artistas/galerias de arte.
